Need for Homework Problems
It's ok to prefer to put a majority of your time into just reading. The word "homework" could bring back traumatic memories of homework assignments in grade school that were not intended to educate you, they were intended to keep you busy.
Fast Food Homework
We see an advantage to the type of homework problem that can be answered in 30 seconds or less and it gives you that "a-ha!" moment of satisfaction. We cover dozens of topics where a fast food-feeding is probably enough.
Epic Projects
If our fast food homework problems are one extreme, this one is the other. We might ask a student to attempt a project that could take a total work time of two to three hours. These problems are intended to give you the feeling that you are "right there in the middle of it".

As an example, a student who does the math to get from Kinematic to Energy will gain an understanding for how different topics in Physics are linked together AND an appreciation for how Algebra makes Physics more understandable. We could try to explain the appreciation here, but you will see it better as you go through the problem.

What if I can't to some of the homework?
That's fine. We want a student to try to tackle a subject before she or he gets to it in their schooling. A student working alone may need to just go to the answer to see what it is that they didn't understand. That student can later to to web sites about the same topic by other authors and ask "does what this new author wrote make sense to me?"

If you are studying Algebra now and you won't get to it in school for another three years, you have plenty of time. The only thing we ask is that you don't panic. The movie "Dune" was right--fear is the mind killer.
Can another student work with you?
If you are interested, send us an email. If the population of students doing this is small, we can commit time to building in the directions that you want to go. With a larger population, your comments, along with others, will steer our work.
